Who this applies to
PreGrader is for students aged 13 and over. We ask for your date of birth once, when you create your account, purely to check that you meet that minimum. We store only the answer — that you were verified, and when. Your actual date of birth is never sent to us and never stored.
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we delete it.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address, and the age verification result.
- What you submit: the assignment text, files or photos you give us to grade, plus any rubric and context you add.
- Your results: the grade, per-criterion feedback, and the comments placed on your work.
- Usage: how many pre-grades you have run this month, so we can apply plan limits.
- Payment: if you subscribe, Stripe handles your card. We never see or store card details — only whether your subscription is active.
Your work is processed by a third-party AI
This is the most important thing on this page. To grade your assignment we send its contents to Google’s Gemini API. That means your schoolwork leaves our systems and is processed on Google’s. Their handling of it is governed by their own terms, not ours.
If there is work you would not be comfortable sending to a third-party AI service, do not upload it here.
What we keep, and for how long
We do not store the files you upload. A photo, PDF or Word document is read during grading and discarded as soon as the result is produced. There is no copy of your original file on our servers.
What happens next depends on your plan:
- Free: nothing is kept. Your result exists only for as long as it takes to show you that one page. Close it and it is gone.
- Student Pro and Pro+: we keep the grade, the feedback, the comments, and the text those comments refer to — so your history stays readable. We keep it until you delete it or close your account.
Who else sees your data
Only the services needed to run PreGrader: Google (AI grading), Supabase (accounts and database), Stripe (payments) and Vercel (hosting). We do not sell your data, and we do not use your schoolwork for advertising.
Your rights
From your account page, at any time and without asking us:
- Download everything we hold about you, as a file.
- Delete your account and every pre-grade with it. This is immediate and permanent — we do not keep a backup copy for ourselves.
If you are in California or another region with data-protection laws, those rights apply to you in full, and the buttons above are how you exercise them.
Changes
If we change how your work is handled, we will update this page and the date at the top. Substantial changes will be flagged in the app rather than made quietly.
